How do I become an EMT in Alaska?

The EMT-Basic course is designed to train individuals in skills and knowledge necessary to complete the National Registry EMT examination and to achieve certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.

RC Health Services has partnered with Cascade Training Center to provide hands-on skills training to our EMT Students at their locations in Washington, Oregon, and Northern California!

How does it work?

Complete the didactic portion online:

The student will spend 152 hours completing the 41 chapters online and have full access to the e-books, audio books, interactive videos, and flashcards on our user-friendly portal.

Complete the hands-on skills training sessions:

Each student will complete two hands-on skills practice days (over medical and trauma) and at least one National Registry skills competency test. These hands-on skills days are posted in advance to accommodate our students' schedules. The hands-on skills days can be completed either in Seattle or Tacoma, Washington.

Complete the clinical internship:

Students will complete a 48-hour (four 12-hour shifts) clinical internship at an EMS facility in their local vicinity.
